When people talk about the world of Chinese, they are sure to mention the name Confucius.

This influential Chinese philosopher, teacher, thinker and political figure is known for his teachings which are preserved in Lunyu. which was later translated into English under the title "The Analects of Confucius".

Confucius or Kong Zhi (Master Kong) believed in education, hard work, and capacities for everyone to succeed.

His social philosophy was based on the principle of "ren". Actually it is a two different words that sounds the same (ren).

The first word 人 means human, a man, or a person and the second "ren" is 仁. It means benevolence or "humaneness".
